Shannon has a unique ability to connect with her students and make learning fun. Our son, Brooks, had been working with other reading specialists but we saw limited progress or interest. We have known Shannon for 4 years. Our daughter, Gabby, has difficulty with reading comprehension. Shannon has worked with Gabby and due to her weekly tutoring, Gabby is thriving and doing well in school. We are very delighted with Gabby’s progress.

Working with Shannon was fun. She is really funny, nice, and kind. She understands kids and she helped me get better in school.
Why I like working with Shannon is that she really helps me understand stories and standardized testing and she is really good at helping me understand what the language means in the stories we read. It’s also really fun doing games with her after we do the work.
Shannon was a second grade teacher to my two older children, so when it came time to find a tutor for my third child and Shannon’s name was mentioned it was a no brainer for us. Shannon has a special ability to connect with Jemima. From the first lesson four years ago, Jemima has really enjoyed working with her, which has led to an increased level of understanding of many subjects that were for one reason or another glossed over or confusing at school. She has been especially patient with Jemima and has become an indispensable part of her learning experience. It is a great relief for a parent to have someone who can skillfully explain to one’s children on a one-on-one basis those things which can seem impossible to understand in the confines of a busy classroom with lots of noise and distractions. We would highly recommend Shannon as a tutor.
